Once again I was down in Las Cruces, this time to announce the publication of the NMSU Library 2016 calendar, in which I assisted and wrote the introduction. More on that in a future post. But while down there, I had to take a look at the Chile Pepper Institute Teaching Garden. Wow, what an assault on the senses. Above, ‘NuMex Twilight’, one of my favorite multi-colored ornamentals
- ‘Fiesta’: Developed by NMSU, this is a pepper party plant!
- ‘Takanosume’: A dramatic ornamental, this Japanese pepper really catches the eye.
- ‘Stromboli’: A nice Italian ornamental for mass displays and edging.
- ‘Burning Bush’: I’ve never grown this variety of C. chinense, but it is sure is pretty.
