Crowd-Funding a Chili Keychain

Video for Chili Keychain

It’s really weird when you have a brainstorm for a new product, start to investigate the possibility of bringing it to market, and discover that someone else had the same idea–and they’re way ahead of you in developing it. On one on of my trips to Italy, I was given a little leather case and inside it were glass vials of chile powder of various strengths that you could carry into a restaurant and spice up your food. That gave me the idea to use something smaller that would attach to your keychain and thus always have it with you. After extensive searching, with the help of Hans, I found a little cylindrical metal pill container that would work perfectly. I carry it with me all the time.

Then I received an email request from George Svec, who wanted my help and support in crowd-funding the manufacturing of his idea that he calls the Chili Keychain:

The Keygoes Chili Keychain

George and his partners are trying to raise $30,000 in order to begin manufacturing. He writes:

WHAT WE HAVE NOW

We have successfully completed the following:

  • brand, logo, corporate design
  • product design
  • selection of materials
  • 3D prototyping
  • manufactored prototypes
  • product testing

WE NEED: your support to start mass production, which is always the most difficult process in starting a business, and your contributions will allow us to establish a small production facility, where we can finalize the products on a mass scale and ship them to our customers as soon as possible.

People who are interested in this project should watch the informative video here. I like George’s idea, so I’m dropping out of the competition to produce this mutual idea.
